Mission Bay Physiotherapy Limited has been owned and operated by Natalie and Niccola since July 2010. They collectively bring to the business over 35 years of experience as both manual “hands-on” and occupational rehabilitation therapists.
Natalie Hankey
Physiotherapist/Company Director, BHSc MNZSP
Natalie graduated from AUT in Physiotherapy in 1997. Since that time she has gained experience working in a number of hospitals, private practices and with sports clubs both in NZ and the UK at National and International levels. She has an interest in Acupuncture, Clinical Pilates, treating musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.
More recently Natalie has specialised further in Occupational Health. She has done extensive work in the field of ergonomics and treating work/overuse related injuries, providing personalised workstation assessments and completing worksite visits.
Niccola Phillips

Physiotherapist/Company Director, B.PHTY, P.G Dip.Manipulative Physiotheray, MNZSP, MNZMPA, MCPTBC
Niccola graduated from Otago University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She has worked in numerous hospitals and private practices and has treated recreational, elite and professional athletes across NZ and Canada.
Whilst in Canada, Niccola worked in Whistler, one of the world’s top ski resorts, where she treated a vast array of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal injuries as well as completing her British Columbia Physiotherapy Registration and 2 post-graduate Diplomas in Advanced Manual Therapy and Manipulative techniques.
Bevan Lawgun 
Physiotherapist, BHSc physio/ MHSc/PgDHSc
Bevan graduated from the Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy in 1995.
He also has a Post Graduate Diploma of Health Science in Manipulative Physiotherapy and a Master of Health Practice in Western Acupuncture (Hons).
Having worked in specialist clinics both in New Zealand and inLondon he has treated people from all walks of life, including top athletes, and a wide variety of injuries and movement impairments.
Using manual soft tissue therapy and western acupuncture technique, he has extensive experience in the treatment of neckpain, middle and lower back pain, knee and ankle sprains andsoft tissue muscle and tendon strains.
He also has experience in post-surgical rehabilitation. In London, he worked at the internationally renowned Wellington Hospital specialising in post-operative care of patients with spinal surgery and ACL knee reconstruction.
Anabel Chow
B.Phty, NZRP

Anabel is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago. She has worked across private practice, sports teams, hospital, and community settings.
Anabel has a special interest in sports-related injuries and takes a holistic approach to rehabilitation, combining tailored exercise prescription with manual therapy to help clients achieve their fitness goals.
Outside of work and study, Anabel enjoys running, Pilates, and pottery.
Tanamera

Physiotherapist
Tanamera graduated from AUT in 2021 with a BHSc in Physiotherapy and has been working in private practice ever since. She has continued to build on her skills through certifications in foundational dry needling, Mulligan upper limb mobility, and Functional Range Conditioning. Tan is particularly passionate about injury management and prevention, with a strong focus on improving functional mobility to support long-term joint health, strength, and resilience.
With a background in competitive Touch Rugby, Hockey, and Swimming in South Africa, Tan understands the dedication it takes to stay active and perform at your best. She enjoys working with people of all activity levels and is committed to helping you move well and feel strong in your body.
Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find her outdoors, keeping active, or spending time with family and friends.
Tom Gallivan
Kia Ora! My name is Tom, and I’m excited to join the team as a sports massage therapist at Mission Bay Physiotherapy.
With a background in sports therapy and a passion for helping individuals achieve their peak performance, I am dedicated to providing effective massage treatments tailored to each client's needs. Having worked in the UK and Middle East I have tailored my approach to focus on enhancing recovery, relieving muscle tension, and improving flexibility, ensuring that athletes and active individuals can perform at their best.
After 11 Years of Personal Training and 5 Years of Massage, including working with Olympic Athletes, I look forward to collaborating with the talented team here and supporting our clients on their journey to optimal health and wellness.
Penny Oliver (Locum)
Physiotherapist, Dip Phys, PD Dip Manipulative Physiotherapy, MNZSP
Penny OIiver Penny graduated in 1989 from AUT. After graduating Penny travelled to England where she worked for 4 years gaining experience as a Physiotherapist in a variety of hospitals and private practices.
In 1994 Penny retured to NZ to complete her Post-graduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy. The following year Penny gained her PAANZ Acupuncture Registration.
Penny has a special interest in Neck and Back Pain, Racquet sport injuries, Chronic Pain
and Sport injuries in children.
Tracey Nichols
Practice Manager
We are pleased to welcome Tracey Nichols to the Mission Bay Physiotherapy team. She joins us after working in the travel industry and being a busy mother to 3 very active boys. She loves reading, pilates and travel (when time allows).
She will help ensure the smooth running of our practice!
Tracey is available to help you Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays.
Jenny Clements
Practice Administrator
Jenny, originally from the UK, has worked in the convention and events industry for many years both in here and overseas. But, has more recently has moved into the health sector and joins us having worked in other health related clinics.
She has two grown up children and loves to travel, enjoys live theatre and music, as well as cinema and reading.
Jenny will be able to welcome you in the clinic on Wednesdays and Fridays.
